Background Research

So I've been researching Jessie J's videos to gain inspiration for the shoot, however I felt as though looking at interviews and videos where she's speaking as well as singing were just as important.
Here are two clips that I found on youtube.com that I found very useful.
(Performance finishes at 8.05) here she starts off entering in a spectacular outfit making sure that all eyes are on her and starts talking quite humorously. (1.00 minute in) She talks about how she used to be in musicals for Andrew Lloyd Webber in the West End. Graham Norton then congratulated her on her first number one (price tag), her appearing on the Brits and her hairstyle. She talks about how she met Justin Beiber (another YouTube star) and speaks very down-to-earth throughout, making reference to his fans and his hair in 3-D. She then carries on to perform 'Price Tag' from her then soon to come out album, "Who You Are" which she explains the launch date for it had to be brought forward due to demand.

Here Jessie J is performing at Times Square Station in New York. She said that when she performs, she feels the most comfortable and likes the honest reaction of the people that listen to her. This video was posted back on the 1st February 2011, however it’s been over 6 years since she was signed. People seem to be mesmerised by her signing as she connects with the audience, winking, waving and smiling at them. She introduces herself and wishes them a nice day, then stopping to take photos with the people that listened to her music. She looks as though she means every word that she sings, and says "it’s nice to feel so accepted." She says that her message to young people would be "be true to who you are, do not ever think that it will not get better, it's like if you're having a bad day, tomorrow will be better. And everyone has gone through it, you're not alone," which fits in with the name and meaning of the song.
